Yesterday was the Home Opener for the Brewers. It was an absolutely spectacular day!! We started off the day at about 9:00 with a little breakfast, a Screwdriver. Who said vodka has to be a night drink? What a way to wake up and start a Monday! I should do that more often.
Then we all piled in the van to head to Miller Park. We made shirts to spell out Brewers and we sported them proudly. (We looked hott too so there was no need to cover them up!) A few hours later, ok it wasn't hours but felt like it, and a "you know what" spotting, we parked the van and piled out to go party like it's 1999!
We had our tailgate party with the Love Monkeys and about 300 of our closest friends, (close only because we literally were that, packed like sardines.) The morning consisted of free food, free beer and good music. Yet another way I should spend my Mondays! The music was awesome and I think they had one of the best concerts ever! We consumed a crap-load of beer and before you know it, there were people climbing poles and we were dancing like never before. And it was only NOON!! It all went way too fast and before you know it, it was time to stumble to the game.
The game went so fast, before you knew anything it was over. J.J. Hardy hit a home run which I missed but ohh well. He's definitely our favorite Brewer, well mine anyways. Probably cause he's so hot. Yeah that's it. We enjoyed the game with our blow pops and peanuts. We even all got together this time and not everyone was too plowed to get our picture taken!! Yeah!!!! We ended the game with a lovely rendition of Roll Out The Barrel and celebrated the Brewer victory!
What do you do on opening day now you may ask. The games over and most pass out, but not us! We headed to the liquor store for some Sparks, Dr. M., and some beer to keep our afternoon alive. It was a lovely day so we sat on the porch and watched the good students go to and from campus. It began to get cold so I headed to L-catts room to lay down and take a little nap. Well, my nap never came and before you know it; people were jumping on the bed every two minutes, so we got no sleep! When your wide awake and sleep seems so far away, why end your day? It's only 6:00 in the evening so... off to the bar!!
The troopers of the group went to the bar a couple blocks away for $5 buckets of beer. We played cards and sang along to the juke box music. A long day turned into a really long night. After many waterfalls, spilled beers and ATM withdrawls, the lights came on and they kicked us out. (Yes, the bars close early on Mondays, who would have thought!) We headed home to hit up Jimmy for some subs and hit the sack.
So after a long day, well two days technically, we ended Opening Day 2006. Many memories fill my mind when I think about that day: dancing, beer, brats, bathroom breaks w/ random men (thanks L-catt), JJ Hardy, our t-shirts, blow pops, sparks, van rides, the casino in wabeno (yeah, stays b/t us ladies), bars, and just plain old fun.
I can't wait for next year.
